MSI introduces Claw 8 AI Plus console featuring Intel Lunar Lake chip

MSI showed off the updated Claw portable gaming console at Computex 2024. The new model is called Claw 8 AI Plus. It is based on the Intel Lunar Lake processor. The manufacturer also installed a more capacious battery in the new product.

MSI is yet to say which Intel Lunar Lake processor model will be used in the Claw 8 AI Plus. This information will likely be announced with the release of these chips later this year. Claw 8 AI Plus has a larger 8-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR. The original model, we recall, is equipped with a 16-core and 22-thread Core Ultra 7 155H with a frequency of up to 4.8 GHz, as well as a 7-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and VRR support.

The battery capacity of the new MSI Claw 8 AI Plus has increased from 53 to 80 Wh. A battery of the same capacity is used in the updated Asus ROG Ally
X set-top box. The Claw 8 AI Plus also claims to have two USB4 ports with support for Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C). MSI also notes that it has improved the responsiveness of the LB/RB buttons on the Claw 8 AI Plus.

MSI also introduced the original MSI Claw powered by Meteor Lake in a new Claw x Fallout design.
