Simply hold this comfortable and pocket sized e-reader and carry your library just anywhere you want.
Design
At the very first glance, the Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite seems just similar to that of its previous versions. IT is perfectly light, comfortable and pocketable 3G version of Amazon e-reader. With a measure of 16.9cm x 11.7cm x 0.91cm and 222 grams in weight it gives an improved and firm grip on hold.
Display
This 6 inch tablet makes the user enjoy the best of both the worlds with combined screen of E Ink and back-lit LCD technology. The E ink technology makes the reading comfortable without having any strain on the eyes, whereas the built-in light provide light source in dark. The actual E Ink screen has also been improved over previous models. With 62% more pixels than the Touch and with a new pixel density of 220ppi, the screen of the deviceis noticeably sharper and offers an improved contrast ratio. It gives 25% better contrast for sharp, dark text. It delivers clear, crisp text and images with no glare even in bright sunlight.
Technology and Connectivity
The Built-in Wi-Fi lets you download books in less than 60 seconds. With the 3G version you can simply access the shopping store while on the move. It’s great alternative as you get to save time and also get books significantly cheaper than their printed price.
Hardware
There are certain things that this version of Kindle line may lack in and first one is the absence of built-in speakers found in previous models. Also, the bottom edge button only has a microUSB charging port and a power button, which means no place for headphone port. The audio lovers will surely have to miss out on hearing the audio version of their favourite book. Another sad thing is the diminished storage space that has been brought down 4GB to 2GB, which is definitely not a good news for those who just love to collect titles. However, it is not too much of a loss as users will still be able to store around 1000 titles at one time.
Overall, it is an excellent eReaderin the market and gives a tough competition to its rivals in the market – be it Kindle series or iPad Mini. There are two other versions of the hardware. The WiFi plus 3G model which is available for $179 (£169), and the WiFi plus 3G for a little more dollar. Those who are too much into downloading new book can go for the most expensive version for that matter.
