Google’s Nexus 4 Wireless Charging ORB Launched

At the time of releasing Nexus 4 last year, Google also unveiled its rad wireless charger that shall be accompanying it. The users of the handset were eagerly waiting for this accessory and yup, finally their wait is over.

For those who have Nexus 4 smartphone or those who consider this accessory a good enough reason for buying it, Nexus 4 wireless charging orb is now available on sale through US Google Play Store at a price of $59.99(roughly £38), excluding taxes and you will get its delivery “in less than one week,” according to Google.

Nexus 4 is positioned at a comfortable angle that lets you see the display while you are charging your phone. This is possible due to the sphere-shaped dock and the tactically placed magnets inside the dock and the handset. It supports the Qi inductive charging mechanism that is integrated into the base of a Nexus 4 handset.

Apart from the Nexus 4, there are some other smartphones too that are based on this mechanism. For instance, Nokia’s Lumia 920 also relies on the Qi system but one drawback with it is that the phone lays flat on the dock making it difficult for the user to view the screen while it is getting charged.

Once the handset is docked, the mobile goes into Daydream mode and lets you access images, large amount of information from applications such as clock, Google Currents, a variety of “screensavers,” among a lot many things. At present, this feature only comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

So, if you own a Nexus 4, then place the order for this wireless charging orb and hopefully, you will get it in a short span of time.
