As one of the biggest companies in the world, Google has a lot of influence and bags of potential to change the world. Google has harnessed this with the creation of Google X – a lab containing the world’s best and most exciting scientists and engineers who are given free reign to create amazing products and services that will solve huge world problems.
It sounds like one of the coolest places ever, but the lab is famously closed to journalists or anyone who is a little curious about what is going on inside.
With Google’s recent decision to withdraw Google Glass from sale, it is becoming clear that not all of these projects will be a roaring success. But the self driving car is still going strong, and recent announcements about potentially life saving contact lenses for diabetics and cancer detecting drugs shows that Google X scientists are still “shooting for the moon”.
This infographic gives you the run down on Google X, and every project that has come out of the secretive lab (the we know of), including the ideas that were just a bit too ‘out there’, even for Google!
